Nelson Mandela Bay Food Wine and Cheese festival

There will be a Food, Cheese and Wine festival from the 29th of March and the 1st of April 2012 at the DF Malherbe School grounds in Walmer Park, Port Elizabeth. Celebrity chefs will be holding demonstrations and exhibitors include traditional to contemporary foods with a world of exotic flavours from India, Thailand, Germany and  Austrian to mention a few.  South African wines from the top wine farms in our country will be represented with wine and whisky tasting paired with popular cheese. There will be the ineviable  “Potjiekos” competition and a traditional Sunday lunch “Spitbraai” with a Kids Zone and festival playground.

Newstead wine estate – The Crags

Newstead Estate in the Crags is  expecting their first harvest early in 2012 and will be offering wine tasting and platters amongst the vines. They are producing MCC sparkling and still wines fromestate Chardonay, Sav Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes.
